Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Taylor is a famous American actor and producer who is best known for the roles she played as the character of Ray Undercover Brother, The Mentalist and The television series The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies from Brown University as well as an MFA in acting from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is a producer as well as an American actress active in theatre, television and film. She began acting on stage and went onto appear in mainstream, independent and television series. Her most famous role was Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as in BET's epic show The Book of Negroes. Both of the roles she was praised by critics and received various nominations and awards including an award from the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. She began her career acting in 1995, when she appeared as Ariel as Ariel in The Tempest. On Broadway she was a part of the cast on stage in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Film-wise her most well-known roles are performances such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. In her television work, she's been recognized for her role in the role of a character who is a regular on ABC's drama about cops High Incident.
