tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27th in 1976. His family was from Southern California and attended Huntington Beach High School where the school was where he played at the top on both the football and basketball teams. Gonzalez excelled in these sports during his time at the University of California. He helped lead the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record at the school for receptions with nine, and beat it. A few months later Gonzalez was the team's basketball coach to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. Gonzalez was then selected for the NFL Draft in 1997. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as their 13th overall pick. Gonzalez was in the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. He was later transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. Gonzalez never caught less than 59 passes in Gonzalez's second NFL season.
